Notice the 3,4 in the left column of this weblog? Yes, that's my Windows Experience Index base score.

There are quite a few people publishing their score on a weblog or forum. The way it's usually posted is by means of a screenshot. Not the most convenient way. So I decided to put together a website where you can upload your score. Once uploaded, you can copy an html-text like the one you see here:

3.4

There a a few buttons available, and the button links to the score-page. Click the button to see.

Your question may be doing with the data that's uploaded? Well, for one, nothing more than what's in the index score file can be saved of course. And there are no personal details in this file. No e-mail addresses are recorded. I'll make an effort will be to ensure the integritity of the data. Since the scores are stored in an XML file, it's easy to manipulate. How about a base score of 120! Of course, once this happens, the data becomes useless. Entries like this will be deleted or refused.

Check out the Windows Vista Team Blog for more information about the Windows Experience Index. And if you're running or planning to run Windows Vista, check out http://www.shareyourscore.com.

My Inspiron 6000 with intel graphics, centrino 1.8x ghz cpu 1gb ram and 7200 rpm disk scores....

1.0

That's right. 1.0

It's sluggish, but that's perhaps because there's no intel gfx driver for vista yet. However, it's at the same time shocking how lame this OS really is. I mean, the hardware is definitely not old nor slow, on the contrary (xp is very fast), however this slow goo requires way more to even run normally.

Perhaps the programmers (or should I blame the designers?) over at redmond should take a look at Apple, as their mac mini performs a hell of a lot better with an OS with similar or even nicer features.

But I disgress... I can't run vista on my main mean dev box (xeon 3ghz, raid 0scsi) anyway, as vs.net 2003's debugger won't run/behave as expected. How more silly can this situation become? :)

Yeah, maybe it's time to gradually transfer your code to Java, eh?
But this score, and the fact there's no driver for your graphics card, is that with the latest RC? It seems strange that there would still not be a driver. Also, I've seen postings where this latest build has improved on performance...
