Presenting a session at a technical conference (or user group) is not everyone's favourite activity. Especially as most of us are just happy typing and clicking behind (or in front of usually) a computer screen.
There are, however, also a number of you out there that do want to share the knowledge accumulated through the years. And it doesn't have to be about the future technology, superearly CTP, product shipping in 2012 ... or maybe a bit later. In fact, most developers are eager to learn more about stuff they have to deal with on a daily basis... today. Stuff that's happing now, and not some distant future. So, why not take on the challenge and speak about the stuff you also care about?
Well, you may find it difficult to get in to the 'speaker scene'. With speakers like Dino Esposito, Ingo Rammer, Christian Weyer, Rafal Lukawiecki, Clemens Vasters and Kimberly Tripp to name a few, the bar is set pretty high. Not my league you may think, and so do the event organisers. It's tough getting through. That's why INETA and Microsoft came up with the idea of Speaker Idol.
