I received the MVP Logo kit today  and here's the new MVP logo. Do I need to throw away all my current business cards?

MVP Logo

I hope not.

Not everyone seems to be happy with the new logo (read the comments). Personally, I think the old logo was really outdated.

I didn't even read the comments you linked to. I see vbcity in the url and am thinking : "Are these the same guys of the VB6 petition a few months ago?" :)

I personally think the new logo is boring and ugly. Furthermore, it has 'Microsoft' in a different type setting as everyone knows, so it might give the reader the idea the logo is home-made.

I really like the old logo and I'll keep using that one. :) Also, because of the rediculus license agreement of the new one.

There are some weird requirements, I admit. One being: "The Logo must always appear so that it is vertically oriented on all materials. "
What does that mean? Is the image in this post incorrect? Then why would it be included in the kit?
I would use the logo as I would see fit in accordance with the spirit of the agreement, not the letter. If I get complaints from MS' legal department we'll deal with that when the issue arises.
As for the logo itself, sure, you cannot make everyone happy. But according to kit, some 1000 MVPs have participated in creating and reviewing the logo, so some folks must like it. You're right though about the type setting of 'Microsoft'.
