For the entire weekend I had been trying to get access to the GotDotNet workspaces. In particular, the one I'm a member of, being the Shadowfax workspace, now called Enterprise Development Reference Architecture. However, I kept running into a brick wall, known as
'Your request cannot be processed at this time'

Everything I tried failed, and there was no clue as to what was going on. I mailed a few people to help me out. Matias from Southworks was very kind to offer me the files I needed for download.

But it kept bugging me that I couldn't log in anymore and view the workspace. And after deep digging I think I found the reason for the brick wall. It seems that that you need to login with a passport account that is the same as the MSDN subscription account (if you have one). Someone mentions this in a more than 2 year old newsgroup posting

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=Or7cY%242qBHA.2172%40tkmsftngp03

So this morning I also applied to enter the workspace with my passport that I currently use for MSDN, and ... voilà. I wished there was a 'faq' or something that mentions this. Well, it's here now. Perhaps it'll help out others.

UPDATE:
As you will see in the comments, it turns out that the GotDotNet-MSDN connection was not the issue.

I'm really sorry to hear about your trouble accessing GotDotNet. Unfortunately I don't think the issue was your login, I think it was just that GotDotNet was down most of the weekend. You might try your original login again to see if it works now. Needless to say, the GotDotNet availability has been driving a lot of people crazy.

However I'm really happy to hear about your interest in the Shadowfax workspace! I would really be interested in hearing more about your thoughts on it and will make a mental note to watch your blog for any comments around it.

I received an e-mail from a MSDN Community Site Manager saying that they we're working on the issue(s). That's really good to know.
And I can indeed access the workspace with my original login. The thing is that when you plan on doing something and you're unable to do it, you get a little frustrated.
It is, however, great to see the response I received on my little mission for workspace(s). Matias, Alex (Thissen), Betsy, Jonathan thanks.
